We currently have four active scripts running; below are their summeries and video recordings (for practice). We put many thoughts, considerations, and practices into those lines. As a result, we ask you to email us for the full scripts or audio files; we will be more than happy to provide and discuss them with you :)

Synopsis for “Grandaunt Tiger”
​虎姑婆

 

There was once a mother with two daughters who lived in a hamlet on the edge of a steep mountain. One day, the mother had to go to a faraway town to sell their produce, so she warned the sisters, A-kim and A-giok, to beware of strange animals.  What the mother had worried about eventually came true: A-giok was eaten by an evil tiger!  So what happens to A-kim and the evil tiger at the end?

Synopsis of “Dr. MacKay of Formosa”
​福爾摩沙的馬偕醫生

 

Taiwan is a democratic country where people enjoy freedom of religion.  A couple hundred years ago, when western religions were first introduced to Taiwan, those pioneering missionaries also brought western values and science with them to Taiwan.  One such missionary, Dr. George Leslie MacKay, made great contributions in establishing churches, schools and a hospital practicing Western medicine in Taiwan.  Dr. MacKay was the first missionary to be commissioned by the Canada Presbyterian Church, arriving in Taiwan on New Year's Eve, 1871.  Upon his arrival, he was greatly attracted to the beautiful island and its people. He decided to settle in Tamsui, a port city in the north, to begin his missionary work and medical practice.  This is a story about how a foreign missionary comes to love Taiwan and becomes a Taiwanese at the end. Dr. MacKay’s dream still lives on in the hearts of many Taiwanese.

Synopsis of “Millionaire Chou”
​周百萬的故事

 

Many years ago, a poor man named Chou moves to Taiwan with his wife in order to find a job.  After opening a grocery store, they find a pleasant and profitable surprise granted by the gods.  The Chou couple quickly prospers and establishes themselves in a large trading business.  However, Chou’s greediness and falseness ultimately lead to his loss of fortune.  How does a man become rich in one night and loose all his fortune in one day?  What can we learn from this tale?  Discover a world with a supernatural eel, gods, and money-driven humans, and learn of the mystery revolving around Chou’s sudden success and rapid downfall.

Synopsis of “The Legend of Sun Moon Lake”
​日月潭的傳奇

In the mountains of central Taiwan, there was a married couple, DaJian and Suicer. Everyday Suicer prepared nets and other tools for fishing, while DaiJian fished in a deep lake. They worked very hard but it was a pleasant life. As all things go, sometimes disaster strikes. One day, the Sun and the Moon both disappeared from the sky and the world was covered in a never-ending darkness. DaJian and Suicer could not bear to see the suffering of all creatures, they decided to look for the Sun and Moon. This is the story of their journey and courage; this is a famous folk story of the Taiwanese aboriginal Tsao tribe
