Since 1997, we the Taiwan Puppet Troupe have enthusiastically carried out our mission of promoting Taiwanese culture through puppet show performances and slideshow presentations. 

我們是從1997年成立至今的「台灣布袋戲團」，我們的宗旨是藉由布袋戲的演出和展覽，來向國際的友人介紹我們摯愛的台灣。

 

Our troupe members are mainly Taiwanese students & falculties at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We also have members from other countries such as India, Malaysia, mainland China, and America, thus making us a multicultural group just like the Taiwan!

布袋戲社的團員們幾乎都是在維斯康辛大學的台灣留學生們. 不過,我們也有來自不同國家的成員,包括來自印度,馬來西亞, 中國大陸,和美國

 

Although our troupe members are all amateur puppeteers. our passion and dedication is no less than that of professional puppet masters! 

雖然我們的團員都是業餘的, 但我們對布袋戲的熱情與投入可不輸專業的表演者們!

 

Our audiences are mainly kids, but our impact reach their parents and teachers too. We have performed in elementary schools, high schools, girl scout gatherings, hospitals, international festivals, retirement homes, and much more. 

我們的觀眾一般是針對小孩子，但是因為他們的父母親或是老師也會在場，我們所傳遞的有關台灣訊息可以有更深的影響。我們過去的演出包括在小學、中學、童子軍的活動、醫院、國際性的嘉年華會、退休中心院、台美人的傳統紀念週、也有不少大學的表演活動‥等等。

 

We currently have four shows: Grand Aunt Tiger, Dr. McKay of Formosa, Millionaire Chou, and the Legend of Sun Moon Lake. All those shows were developed by our troupe members. Our shows are English "Karaoke Puppet Shows". That is, we have all the sounds pre-recorded, so we only need to control the puppets on stage accordingly. 

我們布袋戲團目前的劇碼有四齣，分別是：虎姑婆，福爾摩沙的馬偕醫生，周百萬的故事, 以及日月潭的傳奇。這些都是由布袋戲團團員所製作的，整個劇是以英文發音，所有的音效和對白都已經事先錄制好了。所以團員們在演出的時候只要控制布偶的表演，我們稱這種為卡拉OK布袋戲。
